Anna Kendrick Dishes on Her Oscar Date

Anna Kendrick won't be bringing any beau to the Oscars next Sunday. The Up in the Air star is planning to make the star-studded event a family affair.

The 24-year-old former actress, who pulled double duty in the Twilight Saga, told E! News she's bringing her mom and brother as dates to the glitzy awards show.

"I'm flying them out. I'm so excited," Kendrick said Saturday at Zac Posen's celebration for his new Z Spoke collection in Beverly Hills. "My mom wants to meet George Clooney."

Inside of the private dinner at Mr. Chow alongside the likes of Rachel Bilson, Emma Roberts and Nicky Hilton, Kendrick dished on how she's staying cool until the big day.

While she's trying to relax and enjoy the awards season, Kendrick admitted she's been under more stress than usual. She couldn't even watch the Oscar nomination annoucement.

"I was too nervous to sit and watch the nominations, so I went for a run at five in the morning," Kendrick said. "I just waited for my roommate to text me. And then it was actually really nice because I was sort of alone in the dark. I kind of wanted to shout, but I didn't want to wake everyone up at 5:30 in the morning."

While Kendrick has no problem talking up her Oscar dates, she is keeping mum about her Oscar dress.

"I'm not allowed to talk about what I wear," Kendrick said. "But I'm going to try it on in a few days and it's beautiful. I'm really excited about it. It's a designer that I've worn [before]."

Kendrick said that while having the top-secret gown custom-made from a sketch left her feeling a little like a "human mannequin," she is looking forward to picking out her jewels.

"That's going to be the fun part," Kendrick said. "That's the part where I get to play."

How Jodie Foster Helped Kristen Stewart Nab Her Role in 'The Yellow Handkerchief'

So how much of a role did Jodie Foster have in getting a then-largely undiscovered Kristen Stewart her part in "The Yellow Handkerchief?"

Producer Arthur Cohn told journalists that Foster "urged" him to sign the pre-"Twilight" Stewart for the movie which only just opened in theaters on Friday.

"Nobody wanted me to take (Stewart) in the part of Martine, she was practically an unknown," Cohn told the press at "The Yellow Handkerchief's" press day. "But Jodie Foster, a close friend, urged me to take her."

"So I took her."

He repeated the same thoughts in the film's official press notes which state that Foster "recommended" Stewart for the part. "I followed Jodie's advice because she's a great actress and director," Cohn is quoted as saying in the notes.
Indeed Cohn and Foster are friends. And Foster and Stewart have had a mutual admiration thing going since Foster played the mother to the child actress in "The Panic Room."

But when questioned about the Foster connection for "Handkerchief's" casting, Stewart told journalists it was the first she had heard of it.

The film's director Udayan Prasad says it was actually Kristen's knock-out audition at the Chateau Marmont that attracted his attention immediately and let to her casting in the movie starring William Hurt and Mario Bello.

"She has a terrific presence Kristen does," he tells PopEater. "She walked into the room. You just sensed something, like who is that person?

"Art [Cohn] probably talked to Jodie Foster after we had met Kristen."

Indeed, a source close to Foster tells PopEater that it was Cohn who brought up the idea of casting Stewart during a phone conversation. "Arthur was the one who mentioned Kristen and Jodie said, 'Oh my God she would be great,' " says the source. "It's wasn't her idea."

"But Jodie did say that Kristen would be really good for it."

So clearly, Stewart brought her own cake to the audition and Foster provided the icing.

Caught! Rob & Kristen Continue Pub Crawl of Love!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted fitting in one last round of pub hopping before R.Pattz is due back to the States to promote Remember Me this weekend. Robsten, who seem more far lovey-cozy than usual, of late, hit up the Macbeth in London Thursday night and were inseparable per usual.

Now, are you ready for this? We have it confirmed by multiple sources at the venue that Rob and Kris were:

"100 percent there together," says a sober eyewitness.

Now, take that to mean what you will (as we so know you will)!

A lucky fan at Macbeth last night that twittered she did in fact see Rob and Kristen at the pub together, tho she only took a pic with R.Pattz. Don't you love technology nowadays?

British politician Nicolas Clark (who has had to protect his tweets since most likely getting hounded by Twi-hards) also twittered Tuesday night he saw Rob and Kristen at the Marquis of Granby share "just a couple of kisses on the lips," later adding "R+K were acting like a couple."

Then, after getting twitter-tipped that R & K were out together Wednesday night, we were able to confirm they did in fact grab "a bite to eat and a few drinks" at the Halfmoon pub in London, before watching R.Pattz's little sister Lizzy perform.

Just loving how comfortable these two are across the pond, aren't you? We're feeling so selfless that we just say stay there! Less paps and attention, for sure.

The Runaways Soundtrack revealed

The Runaways biopic, starring Twilight’s Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, melted the snow at its Sundance premiere and hits theaters across the U.S. on March 19th. While fans have gotten a few sneak peeks at the film via its teaser trailers, Rolling Stone now has your exclusive on what songs will feature on the film’s punk rock soundtrack. Since this is a film about the Runaways, the group’s catalog features heavily on the disc, and its track list is split between the original recordings and new versions by Fanning, who plays Cherie Currie, and Stewart, who portrays Joan Jett. Rounding out the album are 1975-era punk anthems by MC5, Nick Gilder, Sex Pistols, David Bowie and more.
That’s the soundtrack artwork up top and it’s pretty sweet, with a literal “cherry bomb” against the backdrop of a well-worn vinyl sleeve. The Runaways soundtrack will be available digitally on March 16th, with a physical release planned for March 23rd. You can pre-order both formats over on the soundtrack’s official Website. Until then, check out the entire Runaways track list below, and be sure to peruse our exclusive photos from the film set:

Taylor Lautner Drops Mattel’s Max Steel to Make Hasbro’s Stretch Armstrong

Forget Team Edward versus Team Jacob, Taylor Lautner found himself in the midst of a bigger rivalry in toy-obsessed Hollywood: Team Mattel versus Team Hasbro. And Vulture has learned that Hasbro just won this round; Lautner had originally been signed on to do both Paramount's Max Steel (based on the doll by Mattel, the world's biggest toy company) and Universal's Stretch Armstrong (a classic character for Hasbro, the world's second biggest toymaker), with Steel up first. But insiders tell us that Lautner has just dropped the Mattel movie.

But how did Hasbro triumph? It all started back on December 4, when an Internet report billed Lautner as "Paramount's Next Big Action Star" after the studio made the Steel deal. While the action figure is not particularly well-known in the States (though it was turned into a cartoon on Kids WB from 2000–02), Steel is a huge toy worldwide for Mattel. Former Revolution Studios chairman Joe Roth was set to produce the film, in which an orphan exposed to nano-technology becomes imbued with superhero powers.

Just days later, however, on December 12, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner watched Lautner do backflips and crack self-deprecating jokes as the host of Saturday Night Live, and the exec was impressed. Moreover, Goldner's company also just happens to be a corporate client at Lautner's agency, WME Entertainment. Goldner soon contacted WME's top agents about casting Lautner as Stretch Armstrong, in a project Hasbro had set up two years earlier at Universal, and on February 5, official word came that Lautner had signed on to star as the rubbery seventies action figure. For a brief time, it seemed as though the 18-year-old Lautner might make both Max Steel and Stretch Armstrong.

But in the weeks after signing on to play Steel, Lautner became increasingly convinced that Hasbro was playing its hand better than Mattel. Thanks to WME, Hasbro was moving with far greater speed through Hollywood's development maze than Mattel, not only setting up projects, but quickly moving them forward: At Universal, Imagine Entertainment Ãœber-producer Brian Grazer was working to get Stretch made into a 3-D movie by 2012; Candy Land had a script from Tropic Thunder screenwriter Etan Cohen, with Enchanted director Kevin Lima aiming for a 2011 release; Hancock's Peter Berg would direct Battleship next year; and Will Smith and James Lassiter were producing Risk at Sony's Columbia Pictures. And that wasn't even counting Hasbro's recent successes with Transformers and G.I. Joe — both of which were directed by WME clients, Michael Bay and Stephen Sommers, respectively. Explained one insider familiar with Lautner's decision: "When you sign up to make a movie with Hasbro, you know it will be in theaters a year later."

Mattel, by contrast, has made little progress in Hollywood, seemingly by choice. Last March, Universal announced that Tom Hanks would be developing a project based on the even-less-well-known sixties Mattel action figure Major Matt Mason (he was an astronaut who lived on the moon, for those of you under 50), but little else appears percolating.

As a result, by the time Universal had begun conversations earlier this month with Monsters vs. Aliens director Rob Letterman about directing Stretch Armstrong, Lautner had already decided not to do Max Steel.

Which is also why when Lautner showed up at the American International Toy Fair industry convention in New York City on February 16, he was photographed extensively horsing around with Hasbro's new Nerf Raider Blaster in Hasbro's hospitality suite — even though, under the very same roof, Mattel was debuting its new Taylor Lautner doll, tied to his Twilight character, Jacob Black.

Kellan Lutz: Gas Station Friendly

Gearing up for another productive day, Kellan Lutz was spotted posing with a gas station worker after filling up his ride in Van Nuys, California on Friday (February 26).

Smiling as he went about his business, the Emmett Cullen stud also purchased a healthy fruit snack as he then left for an important meeting.

Having spent the previous night partying it up at Bar210 for Carlos Lopez’s birthday party, Kellan recently chatted about his love of his “Twilight” role as Emmett.

He dished, “I love being my character, Emmett, and I love this franchise. I love the actors, the production teams, the directors… it’s great to love a job in a way that has continuous projects with it, so I hope Stephenie Meyer writes another book that we get to act in also.”

Robert Pattinson talks about his and Emilie's accents

Robert Pattinson's Aussie co-Star in the drama Movie Remember Me, Emilie de Ravin, had just four days to adopt the accent of a working class girl from New York's Queens.

"We went to Queen's for a little bit and tried to pick up something," says Pattinson.

"It's nothing like her Australian accent. Her Australian accent, I can't even describe it, it's just raucous...it's the most Australian out of every-one I've met."

The movie tells the story of two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with family tragedies. Melbourne actress de Ravin, 28, a star of hit TV series Lost, was cast in Remember Me because of the instant chemistry with Pattinson.

"I read with tons of girls for the part and watch loads of auditon tapes. She was the last person who came in," Pattinson says.

"It's so funny, the script is written for a Spanish girl from the Bronx, and she's the total opposite of it. But she did have it, as soon as she walked into the room.

"She was just really spunky and she had a real hard-core attitude about her."

Pattinson has another Australian link through Kristen Stewart,19,who plays his girlfriend Bella in Twilight and is rumoured to be his off-screen sweetheart.

"I talk to her mum about Australia. Her mum's really, really into Australia," Pattinson says.

Nikki Reed on Kellan's Underwear: He's Got Balls

Add Kellan Lutz's Twilight costar Nikki Reed to the list of fans impressed with his new nearly naked Calvin Klein underwear ads.

"I think he looks fantastic," Reed told us at last night's Hollywood 3-D screening of the Burberry Prorsum show from London Fashion Week. "I'm actually really proud of him."

She continued to gush...

"It takes a lot of balls, no pun intended, to stand and pose like that," Reed said. "I wouldn't have the guts to stand there naked like that."

Unless, she added with a laugh, "I looked like Eva Mendes."

Reed, however, wasn't as chatty about Breaking Dawn. "We're making it, I do know that," she said. "It is happening. As for an exact date, I don't know."

Asked if it's going to be made into two flicks, she teased, "I do know the answer to that."

No surprise, but Reed declined to elaborate.

Also at the Burberry event, hosted by Tina Brown and The Daily Beast, were Jordana Brewster, Ashley Tisdale and Big Love and Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul.

First Look At New 'Twilight Unbound: The Stephenie Meyer Story' Hardcover Edition

It's no surprise that Bluewater Productions' comic book biography of "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer sold well — very well, in fact — so it should probably be no surprise that yet another printing of the comic is headed to shelves.

Revealed exclusively to MTV News today, the publisher announced plans for a new, hardcover edition of "Twilight Unbound: The Stephenie Meyer Story," featuring updated content and a brand new cover image. The edition will hit shelves in May before "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" arrives in theaters, and include post-"New Moon" updates on the cast and, of course, the creator of the "Twilight" books.

Read on for an exclusive first look at the new "Twilight Unbound: The Stephenie Meyer Story" hardcover edition cover, as well as the official text of the publisher's announcement.

Official announcement courtesy of Bluewater Productions:

TWILIGHT AUTHOR, STEPHENIE MEYER GETS LAVISH TREATMENT FROM BLUEWATER.

Vampires, werewolves and, of course, the people who love them have been very good to writer Stephenie Meyer. The writer, creator of the mega-selling Twilight series of vampire novels, has achieved that rarest of feats for modern authors: She's become a celebrity, a household name.

Meyer's comic biography resonated with fans of the Twilight novels and movies. Bluewater, in fact, sold out of several runs of the comic, making it one of the most successful of the company's hot-selling line of biography comics. That's why, this edition called “Twilight Unbound: The Stephenie Meyer Story”, will release a new hard cover version of Meyer's story.

Last year, Meyer also became a comic-book star. Bluewater Productions in November released Female Force: Stephenie Meyer, a graphic biography detailing Meyer's rise from unknown writer to the guiding force behind one of the book industry's top-selling franchises.

This new version will include updates on the success of New Moon, the most recent Twilight film, and a look at Meyer's future plans for Edward and Bella, the romantic leads of her vampire books. The book will also be stuffed with extras, making it a must-buy for Twilight fans.

The collectable version with new features will be the first hard cover for Bluewater retail for $12.99. Written by Ryan Burton with art by David McNeil, the comic is just the latest in Bluewater's popular biography line. This series of biography comics has already highlighted such influential women as Oprah Winfrey, J.K. Rowling, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton. The series' goal is to examine the lives of these important figures in an objective and balanced manner without resorting to sensationalism.

“The fan reaction to our original release of Female Force: Stephenie Meyer was amazing,” said Darren G. Davis, president of Bluewater Productions. “The positive response took even me by surprise. That's why I'm so excited to release this new version of Meyer's story. I hope her fans appreciate the new information and extras we were able to dig up for this edition of the book.”

Bluewater's biography comics, which include the Female Force, Political Power and Fame lines, have been credited with bringing new readers to the comics industry. Many of these books have sold out of their initial print runs. Such mainstream media as MTV, Rolling Stone, Time Magazine and People Magazine have run stories on the books.

The book is scheduled for a release in May in time for the “Twilight: Eclipse” film. The book is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

Kristen Stewart Talks Winning Awards

She’s one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood, but Kristen Stewart says it’s still weird for her to realize that she’s being praised for her work.

The “New Moon” babe, who took home the BAFTA Rising Star trophy as well as the ELLE Woman of the Year award, told press it’s awkward to accept her accolades.

“I would never get used to something like that. A room full of people that you are so overwhelmingly… admiration isn’t even a word that’s enough.”

“It’s like there’s such an overwhelming respect for everyone in the room and you feel so small, not in a bad way, it puts such an extreme dose of perspective to stand up there and speak to these people.”
